I looked into Languard - twice - and still ended up deciding against it. Some thoughts I had at the time are here:
The software just wasn't easy enough, and the support just not good enough - in my opinion.
GFI LANguard is a software product that scans, detects, assesses and remedies network security vulnerabilities. Unsure which solution is best for your company? Find out which tool is better with a detailed comparison of gfi-languard & symantec-endpoint-protection. Use an easy side-by-side layout to quickly compare their features, pricing and integrations.
I spent a long time looking a better alternative at a reasonable price - on-premise, cloud, whatever. I failed.
I'm now using a combination of WSUS and Sophos to manage patch requirements (Sophos can report on what it thinks are missing patches for non-MS software, but as yet can't install the patches - a big weakness, but better than nothing!)
For PCI DSS purposes I really wanted Languard's capability to report on 'vulnerable configurations', not just missing patches. But Languard made life too painful.
